Icelandic literature 1550-1900

This is an Icelandic literary history from the Reformation to the end of the 19th century, where the main aspects of Icelandic literature are explained. It is primarily intended to be an aid for students so that they better understand the conceptual environment in which literature is created.

To facilitate this connection to the past for the reader, the author weaves a variety of folkloric material into his narrative mixed with other literary texts of the period.
