Manual of Grammar is an accessible reference book on Icelandic grammar for students, teachers and all people interested in the Icelandic language. The manual is divided into two parts. The first part is a kind of glossary or glossary of grammar terms with explanatory examples and references to a more detailed discussion in the second part. There are summary chapters on individual aspects of grammar. The terminology is based on what people are likely to come across in teaching materials or manuals of various kinds or in discussions about languages.
Manual of Grammar first published in 1995, but has now been revised with the aim of taking into account the changed use of terms, new vocabulary and new knowledge in grammar.
Höskuldur Thráinsson is professor emeritus of modern Icelandic language at the University of Iceland and one of our most respected scholars in that field.
